We begin with a thorough investigation of current dental health to ensure that we know exactly where to begin.
Models
Impressions of the patient’s teeth are taken so that models can be mounted on a dental articulator. This leads us to the distinct relationship of the patient’s teeth to jaw joints and determines if their chewing system is functioning properly.
When our bite is not working as intended, our muscles begin to tighten, causing our jaw to move in an attempt to make our teeth touch when we chew or swallow. This occurs hundreds of times each day and, over time, causes the joint to become vulnerable to wear and damage.
Based on the information gathered from the patient’s models and other detailed measurements, we may recommend MAGO therapy as the next step toward achieving an exact diagnosis and treatment plan for the patient.
